Re: Mike Wright in the transfer portal
I really didn't expect this. I assume he had a serious talk with CCL first. With Swann's health in question, he easily might have been the starter next year. He might even have been if Swann is okay. I'd be surprised if he is starting at a Power 5 team next season. He'd be a terror in FCS and maybe ...

Re: Ray Davis not returning; entering the portal as a grad transfer
I think he would still have had his scholarship had he been accepted to a grad program. We have no idea what his grades were. I have a feeling that the Peabody faculty/administration feels a bit put upon in tending to about 80 percent of the football team, and they are drawing the line at their grad...

If a guy is head and shoulders above the QBs we have, he's probably not in the portal.

So long as it is recognized that the bylaws prohibit awarding the trophy to an individual whose primary uniform color is orange.

Re: Million Dollar SEC QB's
Well, how about when a guy like Swann ends up having a great year next year, as good as the big stars, has two years of eligibility left, and there's that kind of money awaiting him elsewhere? Maybe he's not the one to do it, but in time, we will lose some stars that we developed.

Nothing about how the teams get chosen. Automatic bids for non-Power 5 winners? That would be a joke.

Re: Why are you a Vanderbilt fan?
I follow VU football by default. I need a team as I like college football, but I'm from a state without a Div. 1 power, I went to a Div. III school undergrad, and then VLS. In the early 60s, a New York sportswriter compared following the dynastic Yankees versus expansion Mets by saying, "if you...

For those who want us to lower our academic standard for recruits, the APR rating may indicate that we already have.

I didn't see any of our receivers getting particularly open against the 130th rated pass defense.

Seals could have played sparingly and not have burned a year of eligibility. He should still have three years now, with 2020 not having counted.

We wouldn't have beat them three straight years if we didn't play them every year.

Still, we need to pitch a fit to the league office, if only to lobby prospectively for next time the refs screw old Vandy.

Re: Great googly moogly: Thoughts on Vandy's SEC WIN over Florida
We need to rethink our strategy while in the lead. We basically fell on the ball on our last three possessions, with the exception of one pass, a very ill advised toss into coverage that was intercepted. On defense, our prevent barely slowed them down. But all of that is for another day, let's bask ...

Not only was stopping the clock with 2 seconds left a shocking error, the reply showed the clock was at zero when the ball was snapped thereafter. Two totally blown calls in two seconds.

Re: Let's talk about...the playoffs
The chances of UT getting in are very high. There will definitely be one, and perhaps two, spots for one loss teams. UT will probably have the best resume of any one loss team. Even if LSU upsets GA, it would have one loss, and that would be a walloping from UT. Michigan and Clemson will have less i...

Surprising development, really. Knocked out of two straight with head blows and he's "possible".
