Whatever he gave to charity, he could have given $13 million more.

Re: Athletic (premium): Elite 2023 signees talk about what they were offered in NIL
The reports about the Rashada situation have said that the top donor to the Gator NIL collective has given $13 million by himself. How obscene and what a warped individual. Think of what good he could have done donating $13 million to charity.

Re: A Beat Down in Progress
When it goes to a 12 team playoff I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bigger beat down when a 3 loss 11 or 12 seed ekes out a fluke win in the opening round only to get annihilated by a 1 or 2 seed - coming off a bye- in the second round. Upsets in college basketball are more common than football. The...

They left Uga back in Athens. I would have thought that would have jinxed them. Guess it will be their decade. I dunno. Back in the 80s we were entering the Japanese Century.

Re: A Beat Down in Progress
This is what happens when you get a team that would have gone 6-6 in the SEC in the championship game. TCU would have lost to Bama and UT and probably LSU, Ole Miss and USC. TCU would have lost to Michigan about 9 times out of 10, with the one coming in a game in which they got a three TD swing off ...

Re: TCU went 5-7 in 2021 and made the championship game in 2022
Vanderbilt went 5-7 in 2022 and... ?? :) 5-7 in 2023. And I don't think that's bad. Consolidating the gains made in 2022 (ie two conference wins) would be ok, considering that regression would be as likely as progression from that. I don't mind two 5-7 seasons as CCL's recruits come to be fully in ...

Re: Another cautionary tale from the portal
Wide out or non-power five conference team is about right. If he goes to Ole Miss as a QB, he likely will see fewer snaps than he would have at VU.

So instead of a TD they got the ball at the half yard line first and goal and proceeded to fumble without even being touched: my sympathy is limited.

Re: A Freudian slip?
Gee, given that no one broke any rules and offered him NIL money before he committed to Minnesota, it's a wonder that he was somehow able to intuit that he would get it!
This is all just brown paper bag stuff, without the bag, and this is not the last time this will happen to us.

Re: Mostly OT: Crappy teams in bowls
It used to be that only perhaps one team from the non-power five conferences went to a bowl, and being from a power five conference was advantageous. Now, in a world where every kid gets a trophy, six wins does it, whatever conference you are from.

So long as we offer more reps for a punter than most teams do, it's the one position that we will be an advantageous position to retain.

Get Seals Back
Our starting QB has left three games in a row after blows to the head. I'd hate to go into next season without something solid behind him. They should guarantee playing time to Seals, beyond what a No. 2 might ordinarily get. That could mean inserting him sometimes when it doesn't really make footba...

Wherever he's looking to go, I'm sure there will be no shortage quality 2d string QBs from Power 5 programs in the portal looking to go there as well.
