Re: AP: Vandy gets fresh start under first-time head coach Clark Lea
She's got the "fresh start" article saved and only has to make minor alterations with each new coach.

He didn't seem to be pulling away from people in the open field in his last season at VU they way he did the previous year. I don't know if that's really indictive of something.

Good idea to travel to tailgate. The area around Minnesota's stadium is increasingly crime ridden.

Now, let's stick with a uniform for a season and not have different ones every week.

Like the "V" consistent with baseball (and 60s football).

I guess this means no more stub hub if the tix have to be through ticketmaster.
If the spirit moves you to just walk up on game day, will you no longer be able to go to the ticket booth and buy a ticket?

I wonder if "the Agrarians" would stand for this. Who were they? I seem to vaguely recall University publications referring to some group with that name long ago, but certainly not recently. Did they do something wrong? Not woke? Goodbye buying a ticket(s) outside for below face on game d...

Re: Recruiting philosophy under Clark Lea / Barton Simmons
Here are some things I picked up from Barton Simmons' presentation last week at Football 101. (Recall that Coach Lea issued us all a notebook and told us to take notes-- so I took lots of them.) 6. So much of what Simmons does is data-driven. He can tell you every Vandy player to make it to the NFL...

Re: Clemson, FSU to the SEC?
What happens when you bring in a powerhouse which isn't from a major market and they cease to be a powerhouse when playing an increasingly on steroids SEC schedule? That team ceases to be a monetary asset to the SEC. Nebraska's move to the Big 10 seems instructive.

Re: Is there an inflection point for Vandy in college athletics' future?
Five years from now, can Vandy really play in a league where basically all of the opponents' players are getting some sort of cash and the stars are raking in millions while Vandy's players just get a scholarship? We don't have the boosters to funnel significant cash to the players through NIL, the ...

Re: Texas & OU records v. SEC teams
Best as I could tell from the article, TX is 4-4 against the SEC over the past 10 years.
3-8-1 against powerhouse Vanderbilt all time. That will make for some good TV chatter when we play them (for the first time with all players wearing helmets...)

Re: Clark Lea Wish List
Until further notice, schedule only "pay for a win" OOC games. Even Purdue or Colorado State. Just stop it. It's not that simple. We currently have to schedule one game against a Power 5 team. Purdue, as a low tier Power 5 team, fits the bill. Colorado State is about an average non-Power ...

I'm sure TX and OK made sure they had the votes before they made formal applications.

Even with kooky judges, the discrimination laws protect against discrimination in employment, not being retained for an advertisement. Now if universities start paying players or bestowing "extra" educational benefits to male but not female athletes, then you will have lawsuits.

Re: TEXAS & OKLAHOMA INQUIRING ABOUT JOINING THE SEC?!?!?
I doubt that Texas's status as a quality university plays any role in the SEC's thinking on this. You have to look at this in conjunction with the new pay the players developments to see how untenable Vandy's position would be. More conference games in a mega heavy weight conference with paid player...

Re: TEXAS & OKLAHOMA INQUIRING ABOUT JOINING THE SEC?!?!?
Not much of a denial. I think it would make our position more tenuous in the SEC. An SEC super conference would get no higher TV ratings in middle TN with Vandy than without. It only depends on whether they want to keep us around as a punching bag and academic window dressing. Baseball? Basketball. ...
