Rich states will have a huge advantage in NIL

We have seen this already, and that’s what Nick Saban was complaining about. The rich states in the U.S. like Texas, Florida, California, etc. will have much better NIL resources than poor states like West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, etc Arch Manning just signed with Texas and probably will rece...

Re: Vandy not in the SEC/Big 12 challenge again this year

Doesn’t it seem like it’s the same matchups every year? I understand they’re setting it up with 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, etc., but it seems like it’s always Kentucky vs. Kansas, UT vs. Texas, etc. It would be more exciting, IMO, if they had each team in the SEC (the top 10) matched up against diff...

Re: OH NO!!!!!

Cue UT fans whining about the NCAA seeding Notre Dame too low so that UT would have to play a lot stronger team than they should have (like they did after losing to Michigan in the NCAA basketball tournament) in 3 … 2 … 1 …

Former Vanderbilt star Howard Pride resigns from coaching at Stewarts Creek

Sorry to see Howard Pride resigned from coaching the boys basketball team at Stewarts Creek. He had been their coach for five years. The first three years Stewarts Creek, a AAA school, went up against all the other Rutherford County schools, which was brutal. Blackman and Oakland always have strong ...

Re: Uut: "Us against the world!"

It’s amazing to me how many of their fans on Twitter and their message board are blaming the umps for their loss and say “The refs are always out to get us! They caused us to lose the Music City Bowl and in the NCAA basketball tournament and now they’re trying to get us out of the CWS!” Waaah. Did t...

Re: ESPN: Best SEC transfers IN and OUT ...

Out… John Amechi (Penn St) & Matt Maloney (Penn): both with ultimately a cup of coffee in the NBA. If I’m not mistaken they both left the same year. Don’t ask me how I remember this but Amechi scored the 100th point against UT the year Vandy won at home against a Wade/A. Houston team, 108-68 Ab...

Re: ESPN: Best SEC transfers IN and OUT ...

I think the “best” (or worst, from Vanderbilt’s perspective) player to transfer out was Brendan Plavich. He was an outstanding two guard as a freshman. He hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat a good Florida team on the road. He helped us beat Kentucky and UT that year with his 3-point shooting. But...

What were Darren McFarland & Willie Daunic talking about in the Vanderbilt radio broadcast?

Today on the 102.5-FM afternoon radio program (the DDC show with Willie Daunic, Darren McFarland and Chase), they made a reference to the Vanderbilt broadcast and said it was "unprofessional" and "inappropriate for a play-by-play announcer who is part of ESPN." I assume they were...

Re: Congrats to Uut for winning the college world series!

If they follow the trend of UT’s other sports this year, they’ll crash and burn in the postseason. Football — they get an invite to the Music City Bowl. Heupel declares they’re “Nashville’s Team.” All the sports media predict a blowout win for UT. They crash and burn and lose to Purdue. Basketball —...

Re: So, what ails us?

Maybe this is just speculation but it seems to me that Corbs is losing more players, he’s going after some guys who are highly ranked but they don’t feel a desire to go to Vanderbilt and choose the draft over Vanderbilt. Whereas before he was able to keep most of his highly ranked recruits even afte...

Re: UT - BAMA Part 2

Not only that, but after Friday’s game, UT’s first SEC loss of the season, one of the UT players was interviewed and whined that Alabama “acted like they won the World Series.” I watched a replay of the end of the game to see what he was talking about, expecting to see a full-on celebration with a d...

Re: OT: Who at ut sold their soul to the devil?

The SEC is really having a down year in baseball. We aren’t very good. Mississippi State isn’t very good. Florida, Kentucky and South Carolina aren’t what they’ve been in the past.

UT is having a good season when everyone else in the SEC is struggling.

Re: UT's Vitello sure does cuss a lot

I didn’t like it when Stallings did that and I lost some respect for him when he did. I’m fact, IIRC, that was the “beginning of the end” for Stallings. A couple of years later he was influenced to leave and take the Pittsburgh coaching job. That being the case, I’m also disgusted by Vitiello. He’s ...

UT's Vitello sure does cuss a lot

Today in the UT-Missouri game, after a UT homer, there was another request by the opposing coach to check the UT bat. Vitello went off and cussed at the ump and at the end of the game he said to the MIssouri crowd, "Check the f***ing bats!" I think he also was cussing in the Vanderbilt ser...

Re: Anyone Else Miss Joe?

The Vanderbilt radio broadcasts are a joke for an SEC team. Not only is the baseball play by play guy not very good, but their broadcast signal strength is non-existent outside of Nashville. They put the Vanderbilt games on very weak stations, 93.3 FM and 95.5 FM. I drive a lot for my job and often...

Re: Question asked on 102.5-FM afternoon show

The whole incident made Vanderbilt look like they were whining over sour grapes and petty (in a game they lost 6-2, so taking one run off the board didn't make a difference) and it made UT look like they were trying to cheat, when they may or may not have even recognized the proper sticker was on t...

Question asked on 102.5-FM afternoon show

Willie Daunic (former Vanderbilt baseball and basketball player), Darren McFarland and former Tennessee TItans wide receiver Kevin Dyson had an interesting discussion about the bat incident in the first game of the UT series. Dyson asked why was Jordan Beck allowed to stay in the game. He should hav...

Re: UT 5-star quarterback

Do they not think that Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas A&M, basically every other SEC team except for Vanderbilt, will just up the ante and pay 5-star quarterback prospects $9 million? Or $10 million? All the other SEC schools (except Vanderbilt) have the resources to get players that ...

Re: UT 5-star quarterback

UT fans thinking that they’re going to return to the top of the SEC just because they signed a quarterback with an $8 million NIL deal is really short-sighted on their part. Do they not think that Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas A&M, basically every other SEC team except for Vanderbilt,...
