Washington State has produced several MLB pitchers and a few defensive position players with admirable WAR; Buddy Black, Mel Sr & Todd Stottlemyre, Scott Hatteberg, John Olander, Ron Cey, Michael Conforto, Tim Lincecum, Lyle Overbay, Ryne Sandberg, Grady Sizemore, Bobby Wells .... but not so man...

The SEC is the best but when opposing coaches have a thick book on your batting habits .... unquestionably the wisest choice would have been moving to a more hospitable conference; ie. .... BIG-10 or PAC-12. The Vandy coaches know C Young's offensive weaknesses as well as any others .... soooo .... ...

Vaz transferred from a JC in LA but he was an early HS commit to Vandy .... just didn't qualify out of HS for admission so he took the next easiest route to get into Vandy. Corbin honored the early commit. I suspect 1-2 on the roster will leave Vandy so they can play elsewhere vs watch from the benc...

To give you an idea of what blockheads the Coaches were in NM ..6 yrs ago. Nick Gonzalez was a non-scholarship freshman walk-on. He chose NM St ..... carried the team and the coaches for 4 seasons. The coaches went from a crap univ to WSU in Pullman, WA .... another crap univ .... but it's PAC-12. H...

The Univ of San Diego baseball team is pretty darn good in 2022. The Vandy boys will have their hands full.

Coach Corbin definitely has integrity by honouring the early (high school) verbal commitment to Javier Vaz after he went to JC vs entering V-bilt following HS graduation. It's likely Vaz was unable to get the ACT score adequate to beat the acceptance requirements for V-bilt.

Baseball has 9 individuals playing together .... but its the individual making the play or getting it done at bat that wins for the team. Team sport is soooo over used. How much of a team sport is a 1 to 0 no hitter win where the winning team score was a BB stolen base etc score ?

I 2nd the suggestion to get the SEC baseball tourny over ASAP by switching to single elimination 7 inning games. The NCAA 64 team tourny is approaching soon w/too short interval that can only hurt all SEC entrants.

Excellent decision by the coaches. Game 2 will put them up vs TN .... a likely loss .... so work up thru the dble elimination loser's bracket and hope for the best .... (hope for TN loss).

Selah WA is less than 35 miles from CWU campus (D2 roster) in Ellensburg. Odds are he could transfer and play. V-bilt is 2 & 2 in the last 4 games with Diaz as the starting SS. Game 1 vs LSU .... the Vandy boys were outhit 16 to 8. The scoring by each team was representative of the # of hits ......
