Re: OT: Is there no longer SEC Alternate channel?

I have Spectrum as my cable provider and just looked. It is still listed, when I go to the channel it says "Programming on this network is no longer available". I can't say I will miss it, on Spectrum when we had games on there it was like watching a game on a VHS tape that had been watche...

Re: Alumni no longer allowed to use VU libraries on weekends

According to VU's webiste, alumni can still access the library (link below). Hopefully it was just a mistake by the guard and you will be able to get in next time. At the bottom of the linked page, you can contact a librarian and perhaps they can clarify things for you. The site states: Alumni may v...

Re: Anfernee Orji goes undrafted

I could see him signing with the Giants. John Egorugwu is on the Giants coaching staff (Vandy's LB coach in 2021) and I know they mentioned during one of the broadcast last season that Coach Egorugwu had said that the Giants could use more LBs like him. Hopefully he makes a roster, I think he has a ...

Re: CB Ja'Dais Richard in the portal

Is there a timeframe on the portal? I haven't been keeping track of it, but figured it would stop before spring practices came around. If it continues after spring practices, it seems like players can gauge their likelihood of winning the starting job/a good deal of playing time and then transfer if...

Re: just wondering

I was curious about this, so did a bit of searching and 247Sports had data on offers given out and those accepted/signed. Whether this is an accurate number of offers given out, likely only the programs know for certain but at least it gives us an idea. I chose a couple of like minded academic schoo...

Vanderbilt's APR score

After the win today, I was curious if there was a possibility Vanderbilt could make a bowl as a 5 win team. I realize there is some contention over these bowl teams, but I do feel that the extra weeks of practice and the overall experience would really benefit this team. I know APR (Academic Progres...

Re: Seriously, what would have happened....

Who does the clock operator work for? Do they work for Vanderbilt, are they an SEC official or a third party? I had always been under the impression the operator worked for the home team or stadium and that is why it seems these type of timing errors generally favor the home team. If the operator do...

Re: If stars matter, how did Appalachian State beat Texas A&M?

App State has played Power 5 teams tough for years. Since the start of the 2017 season, they are 3-5 versus Power 5 schools with wins over UNC in 2019, South Carolina in 2019, and Texas A&M this year. Of the 4 loses, three were by 2 points or less (Wake Forest in 2017, Miami in 2021 and UNC this...

Re: If it weren't for the electronic ticket requirement

Did Vandy give a reason for switching to purely electronic tickets? Was it to prevent scalping and fradulent tickets or simply to save the cost and hassle of the ticket office printing tickets? I understand it is the way now, but Vandy doesn't exactly have a huge fan base and it seems they should be...

I seem to recall Taylor calling one of our games some years back. I believe it was a week CBS was showing two SEC games and we were the secondary game. Other than that one, have we had another game on CBS?

Re: What do you think now about bowl opt-outs?

I am opposed to opt outs for one reason. You are part of a team. Being so selfish to let your teammates down then you don't deserve your reward. I am curious where you draw the line for what is selfish and what is personal choice. Is it selfish for a player/players to not wear a mask when in public...

Re: What do you think now about bowl opt-outs?

To me it helps to look at what could potentially happen to a player. Going into the 2015 Fiesta bowl, Notre Dame Linebacker Jaylon Smith was considered by most to be a first round pick in the upcoming draft. He chose to play in the game but tore his ACL and suffered nerve damage that left some think...

Re: Mike Wright

I could see using him in a fashion similar to how the Saints use Taysom Hill, when he hasn't been the starting QB. He lines up at TE, WR, RB and QB. Wright is not as big as Taysom, so TE and RB may be out of the question but some Jet sweeps, routes as a WR and wildcat with a legitamite threat to thr...

Re: Six FCS over FBS wins in Week 1

It should be noted that all the FCS teams that won played their 2020 season this past spring. With teams limited to 15 spring practices, games on top of that are a clear advantage to those FCS teams. Also, with the exception of ETSU all of those FCS teams have been highly regarded in recent years, w...

If history is any indicator....

Tonight's loss was the fifth time since 1978 that a Power 5 conference team has lost to an FCS/I-AA team by 20+. None of the power 5 teams ended with more than 3 wins. Three of the four teams that won went on to appear in the FCS/I-AA Championship game. The most sobering fact, all four of the Power ...

Re: ESPNU

If you just want ESPNU for the Vandy game, you might look into one of the streaming cable providers (Sling, Fubo, YouTube TV, etc). I know Fubo has a free trial, so could get it just for the game. It doesn't seem our game will be on ESPN+, and I don't think you can get ESPNU as a stand alone.

I just did a quick look over of the rosters and the only Vandy player I saw was OL Saige Young, who is on the Sea Lions. You can view the rosters here: https://xflnewsroom.com/news/the-spring-league-reveals-rosters-for-south-division-teams/ https://xflnewsroom.com/news/the-spring-league-reveals-rost...
