Re: Spectrum v DISNEY/Espn

Is anybody else suffering from the SPECTRUM (cable provider) vs ESPN/Disney feud? Fyi just before the UF kickoff Thursday, SPECTRUM customers had their ESPN ( & other Disney owned channels) access blocked. Does anyone know if this also effected SEC Network? I am tempted to call Spectrum and ask...

Re: NILs

I'd offer that being a student-athlete isn't incompatible with earning large NIL dollars. I wouldn't be willing to wager that a large NIL deal makes these guys more prone to being a bad student.

Re: Alabama A & M Line

I'd be shocked if that 18.5 was ever bettable. I laid the wood (for me) on us to cover the 35 (and lost after A&M kicked a field goal down by 37). 18.5 would've been absolutely ridiculous and worth the largest bet of the year.

Re: What's fixable in the short-term? What's a longer-term problem?

I wonder if he means fixable from a schematic perspective. Often times you have to assess your talent and find ways to scheme around areas where you are not as strong. Now in fairness to our DBs, that position has been getting cooked in most programs for a while. Offenses today make it incredibly di...

Re: I'm At A Loss

I find it strange that you played at Vanderbilt for 4 years but seem to be panicking after an opening season win. There are gaping holes that need to be addressed, no doubt, but I think the biggest thing was to get the win regardless of the style points (or lack thereof). For every close but uncomf...

Re: What SEC team is likely to surprise? Disappoint?

There's no contest for this--it's entirely subjective--but I'd be interested in hearing what teams (other than Vanderbilt) are likely to be this year's Texas A&M and which will be this year's Tennessee or South Carolina. I think South Carolina is going to disappoint based on a lot of expectatio...

Thank you for sharing. Very interesting story and so sad for the family to never know what happened to their loved one. The world can really be cruel sometimes.

Re: Links to stadium construction livestream cameras

FWIW, AD Lee was on the Doug Mathews radio show this morning, I don’t know if a podcast is available but she had a lot to say about the stadium construction, NIL, transfer portal etc. They will be bringing in a portable video screen for this year and the capacity after the renovations will be in th...

Re: For your Tuesday reading...

Get ready, Vandy is going to take a lot of abuse this season about the state of the stadium this fall from outsiders and opposing fans. It's already started. The only way to silence them is to win. Outkick: VU WILL PLAY 2023 SEASON IN CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITH STADIUM RENOVATION NOWHERE NEAR COMPLETE ...

Re: Alumni no longer allowed to use VU libraries on weekends

I didn't know there was ever an opportunity for alums to use the VU library. But I'm not surprised by it if they don't allow it. Security concerns and the like have made things like this a necessity. You really do need to know who is going into a place and not allow anyone to just walk into a buildi...

Re: Devin Boddie, Jr. talks about why he transferred

He says he has 2 or 3 years of eligibility left. He doesn't really have three years does he? Its only two right? Did he get another year from somewhere else? That Covid year has played a really interesting part in college athletics and will for another couple of years.

Re: WAY OT: Memphis & Big 12 redux

Three leagues with 20 teams each is going to leave some current Power 5 teams out, and I think that is a reality and we could ultimately be at risk. There are currently 69 Power 5 teams. I've always thought that four conferences of 16 teams makes sense. Oddly enough I always thought it would be the ...

1. it looks like there's a facemask call on the DB at the tail end of the play.
2. Was there any pass rush at all? I can't see any DL over center.
The center engaged with a DL almost immediately after the snap. There is somebody there, but the slo-mo video belies that a little bit.

Utah and Arizona State following Arizona to the Big 12. The Pac 12 is now left with Oregon State, Washington State, Cal-Berkely and Stanford. That conference is all but gone. I've been on vacation since last Saturday and things have completely turned upside down.

I've been waiting for the day when we hear that the Saudis have invested in an athletic department in order to further sports wash their money. I kind of brushed the thought off when I literally had it this morning. But now it feels almost imminent with this news. If they're willing to take private ...

I always like having lots of talent around. McClelland with his experience was a big get at the time. I don't see any reason to attribute VandyUnited to him instead of AD Lee though. Perhaps I may have missed something.

Being on TV is a much better gig than being a head coach, at least from a quality of life aspect. Maybe not financially, but in terms of predictability, its much better. Good for him!

Re: Clark Lea signs contract extension

So he already apparently was under contract for four more seasons, and now they are extending him three more. Is that really necessary? Did we learn anything from extending Derek Mason only to have things go South as soon as we did? Everyone is happy with him now, but this board will be on fire if ...
