Thanks Coach, point well taken and we’re thrilled to have you.
Now us 5.8% can get to worrying about our lack of transfers.

When Should Some Statement Be Forthcoming
I know nothing about public relations. And I realize all we have thus far is an article (is there a second sourced one?) that has been reported elsewhere. We also have lost our deputy coach, a few transfers and have added no transfers to the team. I also realize that fan agita is not necessarily a r...

Re: Asst Adam Mazarei expected to leave the program
Would he be under consideration for HC if Stack leaves for the Pistons. Given the timing etc to start a coaching search in this time frame could really be problematic.

Re: Legitimate concerns
To state the obvious, this sucks. Suspect that the kids that left VU for the portal didn't do so for this reason. Conversely, kids looking at VU for a transfer site may shy away due exactly to that reason. If he stays do his bona fides as a potential NBA coach help or hurt us. Will recruits look at ...

Re: Athletic Article Touting CJS as Detroit HC Candidate
With these new threads I have a question for the board: should I worry first about our lack of transfers so far this off-season or the potential of losing our coach. Dang I was just getting worked up on the first and now this...

Re: No BJ Mack, but maybe Isaac Jack
Hopefully we’ll hear some good news on this front soon. It is disappointing to see our lack of success compared to a lot of other schools, Michigan just picked up its third high quality transfer. I am a Stack supporter and he’s done a good job with transfers in the past. Nevertheless, given our guys...

Re: Missouri tonight! (Game thread)
Long baseball season makes for conflicting emotions about things. The lesson from hoops’ slow start makes me more inclined to pin importance on the current winning streak etc—would be great to host both a regional and a super regional. On the other hand it’s so hard to maintain good juju and would b...

Re: QMB in the transfer portal
Wright and Q were a huge part of the team this year, particularly down the stretch. Losing them can’t be good regardless of who may be coming in. All we can do is wait and see but with Wright at LSU and Q in the portal the happy glow of the end of last season is fast receding. Obviously we need to w...

Re: (Premium) The Athletic: Barton Simmons goes from media member to roster builder
I thought is was a wonderful interview. His thoughts about NIL, transfers and the culture the staff is building gave me more insight into how they are building things up. Really rooting for these guys to succeed--it would be great for VU and frankly even better for college sports

Re: Maybe he likes playing in Memorial
I heard from "people around town" (and elsewhere) there is a chance he could still be upset with Maryland over the previous staff pretending they didn't recruit him out of h.s. I'm not very familiar with THAT soap opera but the same people think he's been leaning to Virginia and not to sle...

And possibly another Big Ten 7-footer. And possibly a super-promising 7-footer you never heard about that you will do summersaults and backflips over if we get him. (He owns the glass!!) #KeepYourPantsOn MrM, please keep us updated, you seem to have a line into command central. I recognize that rum...

Let me get this right, they blew a six run lead and won by eight. No too shabby.

Re: Take deep breath, step back from ledge
Basketball just takes one or two really good additions most years to make a difference. Past history shows the staff knows what it’s doing here. Suspect in a lot of, but certainly not in all, years this will work out for us. Keep looking to see who we might be picking up this year, certainly adds to...

Re: It is what it is
Will be interesting to see these changes go through their next phases. As a fan I hate it. Will certain programs or schools do a better job of keeping teams together for longer? Will the NIL lead to a real top sphere of schools that have a monopoly on top talent (and result in old Vandy being left o...

Re: Trey Thomas in the portal
Question for those in the know: Are these announcements happening after each person (maybe with the exception of Jordan) has their end of year interview with the coach. Timing would seem to lean that way. If so, it may reflect on how the coach views their role next year. Staff's ability to fill the ...

Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
Wish him the best. He was a hellofa ball player and Vandy Man. Wonder if he thought about getting a VU MBA, not sure how sports management is all that different from other types…who knows maybe he’s going somewhere with a higher rated MBA program. He certainly leaves big shoes to fill. All we can do...

Re: Vanderbilt Education
I've wondered the same. Do kids who play major sports at VU do better (have better career opportunities, not necessarily just make more money) than kids in state schools. I'm not sure if this has ever been or could ever be measured. Clearly a motivated kid at UT (there i said it) could get a great e...

Re: Jordan Wright
Agree, would be great for the team if he comes back. Happy that the Coach will have Jordan's, rather than the team's, best interest in mind as he speaks with Jordan and his family about Jordan's next step.
