The cycle of panic on Vandymania

Greetings fellow VandyFans (and Mrs. Drew), I've been checking regularly on this board for positive "news" for our next-year's team. I would have to describe many posts as quite despairing. It is clearly a bummer to see folks leave, but I have observed that "the collective" has h...

Re: Coastal Carolina transfer Josh Uduje to announce tomorrow

That is one serious long list of quality programs who want him.

Re: Trey Thomas in the portal

The only narrative that makes sense to me is that he went to the portal with some pretty loft expectations on where he would land, perhaps thinking there might be a place for him at another top 20 academic institution where he'd finish his education and play more. My guess is that the phone didn't r...

Why do you think that it is no longer a "graduate education decision"? Perhaps completing a second masters or moving into a doctoral program.... He has to be a grad student to play.

Re: Tyrin Lawrence reportedly entering the transfer portal

Terrible news and so incredibly frustrating. I agree with the complete frustration towards NIL and the transfer portal. I also think, when all the dust settles, Vandy will lead the conference in raw # of departures. Ty was the key to next year's supposed success. What a kick in the mouth.

Re: I'm wondering when we will get our first transfers.

Just counted up transfer portal recruits on 247 Crystal Ball. Seems about 52 schools have at least one transfer, leaving about 300 without any yet. Just thought folks might want to know that we aren't really "behind", even though the posts on social media seem to imply that we might be. So...

Re: Malik Dia to Belmont

I was under the impression that we wouldn't start to see announcements about who is going where until next month due to portal rules for non-graduate students. So, this post confuses me.

This Portal is more "Rick and Morty" than Star Wars, Trek, or Stargate.

Re: Thanks MBB

I watch every season, and this has been one of the most enjoyable teams to root for in a while. I think these players embody the scholar-athlete ethos, play with their hearts, and found a way to pull it together behind a coach who loves the game and his players. I hope the off-season is kind to us. ...

Or maybe he is struggling academically? Drop classes now? Its all quite surprising in terms of leaving the team days before a tourney.

Re: Vanderbilt actually a 2 seed in the NIT per VU

I Looking at the whole NCAA bracket, I think they significantly held injuries against teams. I saw an interview with the NCAA Selection Committee Chair who said that out loud, much to the surprise of the interviewer (I think it was on ESPN, but don't recall). I was surprised to hear that too. It ce...

Re: Seniors: Next year's starting 5

Unless someone has hear differently, I do not expect to see Wright on the team next year. I also wonder who would start between Dort and QMB. They bring so many different things to the table. I bet they get equal PT next year regardless of who "starts". Good point about the senior loaded t...

We are going to get to watch him at the next level. Think about the trajectory that he has been on. No reason to think he's hit his high potential even yet. Heal well, Liam! Thanks for a great season, you will go down as one of the Vandy greats.

It's my understanding that he has another year of eligibility. It would be amazing to see him come back (assuming I am correct and he has more schooling to finish his grad degree)
