Re: Some Tyrin news

Loyalty's great when it runs both ways. But when coaches can run off players as soon as they find someone they think is better, it's hard to blame the players for moving on when they find a better deal. And I'm not sure you can say "free education." Legit SEC athletes have rare talent, th...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence at the G League combine today

That might get him a 50-50 shot at the NBA combine which might get him a free agent shot at a summer league roster spot. The competition is massive and the list of guys at the G showcase doesn't even include international players. I think he should return to VU for one year, be the focus of the off...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence reportedly entering the transfer portal

This is certainly not most of the players, but there are several earning in the $500,000 a year range now. A few earn around 1 million, and at least one, maybe a couple more earn above that. I've tried to get a better feel for the "average" NIL deal for basketball, but so far I don't think...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence reportedly entering the transfer portal

I felt a bit odd having the conversation my family had with his family. I would of never asked what my mom asked about is Tyrin going in the Portal. I think she was trying to navigate this new world, and trying to be a bit funny. I wished she wouldn't of asked it, but the family was very nice and qu...

We didn't get to meet his son, but agree he has lots on his shoulders taking care of an adorable kiddo

I believe your count is correct. I also agree there is a need for at least 3 of those to be portal upperclassmen. It would be best to get some Grad Transfers that have 2 years eligibility remaining

Re: We have a heck of a core group...

The core is most likely very good with Tyrin back! Smith is going to need one of those body developing that Jordan & Tyrin went through to truly develop in my estimation, but the raw talent is really there already. I get them impression that our coach sees much of his own abilities in Smith's po...

Re: Nobody deserved to lose that game, what a game

The NCAA really needs to look over how they do things. This year's tourney shows that they overseed the traditional powers and snub less well-known programs. Who knows what Vandy would have done in the big one. I believe with Liam, and favorable matchups(guard matchups almost always play a huge rol...

Re: It is what it is

I attended a small college in Louisiana in the early/mid 80's. I will always remember at orientation we were asked to look at the person on our left, and the person on our right. Then they said, only one of the three of you will actually graduate from here if you follow recent classes. Being a super...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence to test the NBA Draft

The natural talent is actually there I believe. Not sure he is ready, but his size, shooting, defense, and ability to handle the ball all make him a player that could earn a nice living playing professionally. Now is he ready for the NBA? Now? If I knew this answer, I would be getting paid some big ...

Re: Lesson and response

If it sounds like I've said this before, its probably true. I'm certain our Coaching Staff knows the details here way more than I ever will, so I am not questioning their decisions. The mention of is this dead-eye shooter on the team already question, immediately had me thinking about Noah Shelby. B...

Re: Backcourt

Actually I think his biggest need is to improve his ball handling. I find that a bit odd to say since he came in as a point guard mainly. Maybe his ball handling is good enough, but its like he can do the spectacular, but struggles at times with the focus to do the basics well enough. I'm a HUGE fan...

My apologies, I almost put out beside this that I was only joking. I thought that it was an obvious thing, but if you didn't understand my poor attempt at humor, I will apologize.

Re: Stackhouse co-coach of the year

I didn't see this coming earlier in the season. I'm probably like the majority that struggled figuring out this path, but I'm glad it worked out so well. As I've said often, I may see things that don't look best to me, but I'm a fan. I will continue to have season our season tickets with our group o...

Re: Jordan Deserves More PT

All of this is true! Jordan does need more playing time, but he must play more like tonight.... As I & others have said multiple times, this team needed a strong showing from Jordan for this to be a successful season. Now with Robbin's injury, its time for this Sr to show the strong leader/ wond...

Thanks Mr Memorial, but not sure I'm very qualified. My brother would tell you, I know enough to sound like I know what's going on, but also not near as wise as I think I am :) . I love the game of basketball, and as my wife once said to me "If you had just a bit more ability, it would of been ...

Actually, the most important game is at LSU. Some will think that is because its the next game, and yes the next game is always the most important game to some extent. The reality is losing at LSU would be considered a bad loss, and that would hurt us lots!

Re: Officiating

Officials being human is probably the issue. Most officials have certain things they notice more than other things. I detest players getting away with camping out in the lane, and rarely getting 3 seconds called on them, so when I've officiated I've noticed I seem to make this call more than anyone ...
