Re: So... is Clark Lea the right man to resuscitate Vandy?

Lea is 100% the right hire for the position at this time. His resume is damn near perfect for us. Now... CAN HE DO IT? Can he "resuscitate Vandy" That question is so complex and loaded that his CV can't possibly predict the answer. For starters, given how easy it was for us to back slide a...

Re: Tennessean (premium): Projected depth chart

She lists Will Sheppard ahead of Abdur-Rahman at one receiver (Sheppard has gotten raves this spring and fall), and a walk-on Michael Warden at center. On defense, I think she's confusing the "Anchor" position with the "Star", which is more of a rush end. She lists four down lin...

Re: UT coach Josh Heupel mocked for comments about team's energy walking up stairs

I don't know... when John Wooden used to begin practices by teaching players how to lace their shoes properly, somehow that was considered genius. True, but if Wooden had gone on to have the record of Jeremy Pruitt, I'm pretty sure the hindsight review would've been something along the lines of &qu...

Re: LSU to require vaccination or negative PCR test to attend games

I hope Vandy institutes a similar policy. 1) It will benefit the health and well-being of our community 2) The only thing worse than having our stadium constantly overrun with opposing fans is the thought of having our stadium overrun with opposing fans who are contagious with an incurable and deadl...

Re: How improved can Vandy's offense be?

One of the barely audible journalists after scrimmage 2 noted that Wright has looked the better qb in the two scrimmages - what is Seals showing during practice? Lea responded that the QBs are put in game situations every day and that Seals has done well in those and been the better guy on certain d...

Re: LSU to require vaccination or negative PCR test to attend games

That should hopefully help reduce COVID deaths in the Baton Rouge area. Louisiana is indeed swamped with cases. But this should also alleviate the pressure on the healthcare system statewide since patients are getting distributed to wherever they have a available beds. 80k fans packed into concours...

Re: How improved can Vandy's defense be?

The Orji brothers are two highly recruited and talented LBs. If they live to potential, look out. I'm extremely high on McCallister and it sounds like the coaches are as well. He missed most (all? ) of last year, but I think he would've had a break out year last year. I think we're going to like him...

Every time I hear Seals - I like him more. He gives you very authentic interviews and honest assessments of his team and self. And he's not afraid to just be a college kid. "yeah that sucked!"
So refreshing.

Could be any number of things, like admission office issues, quietly being told we have recruited over you, or maybe they just decided that VU wasn't the best fit for them. We likely will never KNOW, but seeing where these young men end up, and what happens with VU the rest of the way, may offer so...

4 wins. Three out of conference but losing to Stanford. One conference win against either UT or SC. As much as I hate to say it, close losses are going to be necessary to sustain momentum - call them moral victories if you must. Where will we find close losses? Well I expect the Stanford game to be ...

"Silent Commit"

Could the referenced "silent commit" be the highly coveted 4-star LB Daniel Martin? https://247sports.com/player/daniel-martin-46057662/ I notice that his interest level in VU has bumped up to "warmer" and two more CB predictions have been added with "medium" confidence...

Re: Looks like everyone has a numeral now, just in time for fall camp

One thing that stands out to me is that several of our defensive linemen appear to have reduced their weight.
Only a couple of guys tipping over 300. Not a cause of concern but appears to be an intentional shift from last year with basically the same guys.

Re: Putting his finger on the problem

Let me just say this. Around the time, CDM took over, I had the opportunity to get to know 3 members of the team (one was a starter, one was a part time starter, and the third was a perennial back up). All three hated Franklin and were glad to see him go. Their biggest gripe? how he (and I'm quoting...

I wouldn't be surprised either.
The RB from ILL is possible as is the edge rusher who just committed that had offers from the whole world.

Your Alabamas, Texas, Florida, tOSU and similar schools with huge fan bases and lots of money will basically buy a team while the Schools like Vandwrbilt, Mississippi, Arkansas and others will be relegated to basically division 2 status. Think we will ever win a battle against tennessee, Notre Dame...

yep. Adverse reactions are a possibility with anything you inject in your body - from infections to reactions to side effects. But in the case of these vaccines - it's a very slim possibility. Adverse reactions to the virus on the other hand are a very strong probability. All the enabling of this un...
