Challenges for Ole Miss
This season Vanderbilt is off to a 3-2 start, which is already an improvement over last season’s win total. However, the 55-3 loss at Alabama two weeks ago has put a damper on the previous feeling of optimism. Vanderbilt has several players among national leaders on its team. Linebacker Cooper Lutz is tied with 23 other players in the nation in fumble recoveries with two. Matt Hayball is fourth nationally and first in the SEC in punting averaging 47.2 yards per punt. Wide receiver Will Sheppard is second in the nation in touchdown receptions with seven. Linebacker Anfernee Orji is first in the SEC and 14th nationally in total tackles per game getting 10.4 per game on average.
