SEC Football Predictions: Week 12

SEC Football Predictions

Last week we went and impressive 5-2 on our predictions and were exactly correct on zero games (again). The two misses were when Kentucky failed to find its offense (again) against Tennessee and when Missouri held on to beat Vanderbilt in a five point game. The closest we got to an exact prediction was LSU beating Arkansas which we missed by 10 total points.

Here are some score predictions for Week 12 of the SEC season:

Saturday, November 17

The Citadel @ (1) Alabama – The triple-option attack of The Citadel might control the clock enough to stop Alabama winning this by a half century. Maybe. Alabama 60, The Citadel 0. MORE: Bama 3 Keys, First Look

Middle Tennessee @ Kentucky – Kentucky doesn’t score enough to blow out a Middle Tennessee team that has been hot against a bunch of lower tier C-USA squads. Expect the Kentucky running game to do just enough to win this one ugly. Kentucky 27, Middle Tennessee 20. MORE: Kentucky 3 Keys, First Look

Idaho @ Florida – Idaho has already given up 79 points in a game this season (Fresno State) so clearly the defense is there for the taking. This is a game where Feleipe Franks needs to continue to build his passing confidence as the Gators roar into an early lead and don’t look back. Florida 45, Idaho 10. MORE: Florida 3 Keys, First Look

Arkansas @ Mississippi State – Nick Fitzgerald hasn’t progressed as many had hoped, but he has been dominant against Arkansas as a Bulldog. This is his last game at home as a college player and he will use that energy to have another big day. Mississippi State 35, Arkansas 17. MORE: MSU 3 Keys, Arkansas 3 Keys, First Look

Missouri @ Tennessee – Tennessee had more than enough to beat offensively challenged Kentucky last time out, but Drew Lock and the Missouri passing attack is a different animal. Tennessee will muddy this up, but Mizzou will pull away with a big fourth quarter. Missouri 31, Tennessee 20. MORE: Tennessee 3 Keys, First Look

UMass @ (5) Georgia – Georgia will be too strong at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball for UMass to have any realistic chance on an upset. Expect the Bulldogs’ ground game to go off here. Georgia 54, UMass 17. MORE: UGA 3 Keys, First Look

Liberty @ Auburn – Liberty has the offense to keep this close for a quarter or so but it also has the defense (or lack of) to eventually be blown out. Auburn 45, Liberty 20. MORE: Auburn 3 Keys, First Look

UAB @ Texas A&M – This isn’t what the Aggies signed up for when adding the Blazers to the schedule UAB has the best pass rush in the country, has an outstanding secondary, and is leading the nation in third down stops. This will turn into a grind, especially if the Aggies can’t protect Kellen Mond. Texas A&M 28, UAB 24. MORE: First Look

Rice @ LSU – Rice is about as bad as you would expect a 1-10 team from C-USA to be. LSU wins this one without ever stepping out of second gear. LSU 54, Rice 7. MORE: LSU 3 Keys, First Look

Ole Miss @ Vanderbilt – Stopping the other offense is going to be a huge problem for both teams here. Vanderbilt has no idea how to get off of the field on third down, while Ole Miss has exactly the same problem. Expect Ke’Shawn Vaughn to be the difference here as he rips off over 150 yards on the ground. Vanderbilt 38, Ole Miss 35. MORE: First Look, Vandy 3 Keys

Chattanooga @ South Carolina – Chattanooga has the defense to keep this interesting, but they just don’t score enough points to threaten a South Carolina squad that has fallen below expectations in 2018. Expect this to be a blowout by the middle of the second half. South Carolina 34, Chattanooga 13. MORE: USC 3 Keys, First Look
