Challenges for Alabama
One 2017 National finalist has already fell in Death Valley this season. Alabama will be the second 2017 finalist to make an appearance in the hostile venue. LSU may be the best geared team of the 2018 FBS field to beat Bama. The Tigers are very athletic and Ed Orgeron, who was once a laughing stock in the SEC, is now a respected head coach for the Tigers. Alabama must treat this game with seriousness or it could be a bad day at the office for the Tide.
Challenges for LSU
Alabama’s ferocious defense is perhaps most dangerous against the pass. Tide defenders have intercepted 12 passes through eight contests this season, which is tied for eighth in the FBS and ranks second the SEC. Four of those interceptions were returned for TDs. Against the run the Bama defense has allowed just three touchdowns this season. On offense, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy leads the FBS in yards per reception with 25.06. He has 10 TD catches this season. He’s got a near perfect quarterback throwing to him in Tua Tagovailoa (25 TDs, No INTs).
Saturday’s game kicks off at 7 pm CT and can be seen on CBS.
