Challenges for South Carolina

The Gamecocks, like Vandy, suffered a gut-wrenching loss in the last game. The only difference is that South Carolina has gotten an extra week to recover due the Hurricane Florence. This gives the ‘Cocks extra time to rest up and heal all the bruises and aches that are common with football, especially after playing Georgia. Winning this game is important to both Vandy and South Carolina. Probably even more important to USC because they’ve already lost an SEC contest.

Challenges for Vanderbilt

The Commodores are coming off a very disappointing could have, would have, should have, loss at Notre Dame. Vandy came so close to shocking the college football world. Sure the refs were poor but the Commodores know they could have won despite the refs with proper execution and ball security. Truth is, the Commodores have bigger fish to fry coming up. South Carolina is probably better than the Irish and has had an unexpected bye week because of the Hurricane Florence. If the ‘Dores can “flush” the Irish loss quickly they have shot at downing the Gamecocks.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 3 pm CT (4 pm ET) and can be seen on SEC Network.
