Challenges for LSU

LSU’s Ed Orgeron, who flopped at Ole Miss, is a solid 17-6 as LSU’s head coach. The Tigers pulled off a huge win in week 1 beating Washington. LSU has made their money off turnovers with a very healthy plus 2.50 turnover ration. That has enabled the Tigers to be 2-0 despite a wretched 25% third down conversion rate. If the Tigers are to beat Auburn they need their offense to click better and to get that conversion rate up to 40 percent for this game.

Challenges for Auburn

LSU may not sparkle statistically but the Tigers get it done on the field with big plays. Forcing turnovers, many returned for TDs or long return yardage and getting it done on special teams. Auburn must establish the run and not be forced into third and long situations. No matter what, the Alabama Tigers need to keep their composure and not be forced into making poor decisions. This is a game Auburn should win in Jordan-Hare but mistakes can swing the pendulum.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 2:30 pm CT and can be seen on CBS.
