Alabama football meets Louisville on Saturday in Orlando. Here is your first look at the Cardinals.

Louisville Season so far

Louisville, obviously, hasn’t played a game yet this season. Last season for Louisville was a case of a flying offense paired with a poor defense. The Cards had a 47-35 win over North Carolina. A 35-28 win over Purdue. A 31-28 win over Florida State. At times the defense did show up like in the 56–10 win over Syracuse. The last time Louisville met Alabama was 1991 in the Fiesta Bowl. The Tide prevailed 34-7 in that one.

Challenges for Alabama

QB Jawon "Puma" Pass
QB Jawon “Puma” Pass
Gone now is Cardinal superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson who has moved on to the NFL. The Cards will rely on Jawon “Puma” Pass to be their quarterback. He’s a 6-foot-4, 230 pound sophomore who was rated the No. 7 QB prospect nationally in his recruiting class. The Cards return their top three receivers from a year ago. That group combined for almost 150 receptions. Louisville took heavy losses on the defensive line but does return the top TFL guy in defensive end Jonathan Greenard Jr. Alabama’s defense is loaded with new starters. They are very talented but need to mature quickly against a dangerous offensive team like Louisville.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 7 pm CT and can be seen on ABC.
