Challenges for Missouri
As always, the first priority for any game is to win it. After that this matchup offers the Mizzou defense, which struggled last season, an opportunity to come out with a strong opening performance. Furthermore, it’s always important for a team to develop depth and a game like this should enable the Tigers to play some of the younger talent. Martin finished the 2017 season 6-5. Their top returning passer is QB Dresser Winn who completed 50 of 90 passes for 744 Yards, 5 TDs, and 1 interception. Running back LaDarius Galloway ran for 859 yards and 4 TDs a year ago. Linebacker James Gilleylen led a tough defense which ranked sixth nationally in the FCS in total defense (273 ypg). UT Martin is a likely win for Missouri but they are worth being taken seriously.
