Tennessee-Kentucky Prediction
Here. We. Go. No. 1 Tennessee carries a 19-game winning streak into Rupp Arena to face Kentucky. LSU did alter the complexion of this matchup by upsetting Kentucky on Tuesday, but this is still a heavyweight fight and still a game everyone in college basketball wants to see. It promises to be good – it always did – but Kentucky now figures to bring an added measure of desperation to the court since it must win this game to have any hope of winning the SEC’s regular-season championship. This game figures to turn based on Kentucky’s ability to get high-quality shots against Tennessee’s defense. Kentucky’s 3-point shooting is a prime weakness. The Wildcats have to pound the ball inside, make Tennessee pack the paint, and create open looks as the game evolves. Big Blue has flaws, but they probably won’t be magnified at home in a must-win situation. Kentucky 75, Tennessee 72. (Matt Zemek)
