I thought this had been posted before but The Athletic's article is dated today so maybe not:

Ranking 133 college football teams for 2023, from No. 1 Georgia to No. 133 UMass

It has Vanderbilt ranked 77th, up 9 spots from what I assume was last year's final rankings.

Also looks like The Athletic needs the updated V logo.

The coaches are wearing gear with the Star with the NEW broader V. Looks good.

Not exactly sure how a Rutgers or ASU, with poorer anticipated records and schedules, rate as good or better than VU.

I call biased BS on this TA ratings.

That is why us betting types put down some cash when our teams are on the upswing. I put down a chunk of money on the Texas Rangers at the beginning of this year (gonna bank there), and I put down some cash on Vandy this year. Bet them before everyone else's realization of what is going on.

Even if things don't materialize as we'd like, we're a good bit better than the #77 team in the country. And a moonshot above Arizony State, for that matter.

Those are last year's records, not the anticipated records for this year.

Rivals recruiting rankings for Class of 2023 ranked players Vanderbilt #46, Arizona State #54 and Rutgers #62.

Overall, it looks like the ‘Dores have better incoming players. Can’t say about players lost by ASU and Rutgers.

Don’t see anything that would account for them being rated about the same as VU after going 3-9 / 4-8 last season.

I thought that one plus for ASU could be freshman QB Jaden Rashada, ranked as #11 QB in the class. But then I saw that Rashada is only #3 on their depth chart.

BUT THEN I saw that ASU has 19 starters (including 4 Special Team guys) who are TRANSFERS! Maybe they brought in some really good players via the Deion Sanders program.

We shall see.
