No, not me - I want Bama and have always pulled for them except vs us. Saban is a great coach as was Bear and their fans are far less obnoxious than UT- maybe because they are accustomed to winning wheras UT - not so much.

Being successful makes it easier to be gracious (it doesn't always work that way - eg., Kentucky basketball fans), and Alabama fans as a whole definitely are better sports than UUT followers.

I grew up in an Auburn family in Birmingham in the 50's and 60's, which was not easy. Growing up I hated Bama. Then, I went to Vandy and eventually found myself living in Chattanooga. The orange hue enveloping Chattanooga, coupled with the single-minded devotion of local and Nashville sports coverage (all media) has turned my disdain from Bama to Knoxville. It is difficult to imagine any team from any school that I would like to see lose to UT.

ME TOO!!

In fact, I just came here to post a similar topic. On the one hand, as a Vandy alum I am required to forever hate UT. On the other hand, for the last 15ish years, my favorite day of the college football season has been the day it becomes clear Alabama can no longer win the National Title. It is very depressing how that day only seems to arrive approximately 1 out of every 2 years.

I developed a sports hate for Saban after he left my Dolphins in the lurch 48 hours after saying in a press conference "Let's get the straight right now: I am not leaving the Dolphins for the Alabama job." I've also heard too many stories of how Saban prioritizes football over being a decent human being (example: The time he came in, had an office worker compliment him on his new haircut, and he proceeded to yell at her for talking to him about something other than football). Not to mention the inherent distaste and disgust for almost any college program that just rakes in the top recruiting class year after year while we all try to pretend that the game is fair.

So yeah ... all things considered: Go UT (today)! May they stomp Alabama into the ground, and then see their own national title hopes die on the wrong end of a 56-3 thrashing against Georgia.

I want Tennessee-Knoxville to lose every game in every sport until the end of time.

Exceptions occur when a Tennessee-Knoxville victory would be beneficial for Vanderbilt, but those are rare.

NEVER NEVER !!

Now sometimes I don't like either team (ie. UT/Ky basketball) so I don't have a rooting interest at all, just somehow hoping they both lose. I'm trying to imagine a scenario where I pull for UT as it would have to be somehow connected with assisting Vanderbilt in winning a championship or something like that. This is how I visualize UT athletics.

If UT were playing Satan and his band of demons, I would be in the stands rocking horns and a pitchfork.

I can find myself rooting for UuT in basketball, because I like Barnes and for some reason they’ve had some likable players the past few years. But football and other sports? Never ever. I admire how Saban has run the Bama ship, and have met very few Bama fans who were idiots.

With that said, roll tide today.

Bama 5,377, UuT 3

Now, to be fair, IMHO there is a reason Satan and Saban are only one letter apart...

2 great QB’s in that game. If Young had been unable to play UT would have won by 20.

I'm skeptical of the belief that we are improving. I haven't seen much improvement. We have three wins over really bad teams. I doubt we win another game. I can't see anyone on our remaining schedule that we would have a decent chance of beating.

The UT ‘Bama game was a joy to watch. Both QBs were amazing and the skill players were much fun to watch. Hats off to both squads. Hate to say it but coming back from that bad PI call that ended in a Bama TD and the fumble,UT really showed it’s a force to be recorded with. The UT game with UGA should be another barn burner.

Looks like Jay got concussed a few too many times. Doesn't he know the Vols smoke blunts?

It's senseless trying to come up with some scenario where you root for UT. Because you just don't do it. It is even more of a taboo than incest.
