Nothing to complain about after that suspect HBP gave them the lead.

Going on 2 hours. Must be a new lightning strike every 29 minutes.

Hoping the Xavier closer is taken down and the new guy is wild. During the delay, get our batters some Barry Bonds elbow pads.

Agree! There is no storm, but it appears they have had a lightening strike within the limits allowed. I live about 15 miles from the stadium and have had no rain and it didn’t appear to be raining at the field. The longer it’s delayed, is to our advantage, in my opinion.
I live 3 miles from stadium. No rain or lightning here.

I’m all for safety but gotta love rules for which reasonability has no place.

PS anti jinx, too bad we lost two one run games to end the season.

Meantime, on the Vanderbilt App audio I’m hearing Game 2 of the 2021 Super Regional clincher versus East Carolina … for the second time today and third time late this season.

Can’t they find some other audio?

Well we won it: let's win this one, too.

After doing some painting, catching up on correspondence, and watching a recorded TV show, I'm flipping through other NCAA games on ESPN+. In the Iowa-Indiana State game, Iowa let ISU back into the game with its seventh hit batter of the game. The latest, with the bases loaded, was reviewed and upheld. According to the announcers, this was not the first HBP review of the game.

As for the tie-breaking HBP in the VU game, I don't know if the call was correct but I agree with many of you that it was deserving of a review. Corbs may not be able to call for it, but he could protest enough that the umps and or review folks in Pittsburgh would have initiated a review.

I believe Corbin is an old-school gentleman
who accepts the calls -- even if he believes they are incorrect -- and doesn't want to show up the umpires. This isn't the first time that many of us were surprised at a No Review.

I respect his stance, but to paraphrase Queen Gertrude in Shakespeare's Hamlet: "The gentleman doth not protest enough, methinks."

Any links to a broadcast of the last inning? ESPN has passed this game off it seems?

Radio?

Meanwhile, on Vanderbilt App Radio, Kevin Ingram is into the seventh inning of the Super Regional with Jack Leiter on the mound -- for the third time.

Still watching Indiana State - Iowa, there was a play that color commentator Danan Hughes clearly didn't understand. I fast reversed to the beginning of the broadcast to see Hughes and Sam Ravech calling the game from their respective dens and/or basements.

Ravech: "Welcome to Terre Haute, Indiana .... Great to have you with us here tonight."

HE IS NOT EVEN THERE, but it's great for us to be with him. I wonder if Ravech has an IPA for me in the fridge.

Texas and Miami have played an entire game while we were on hold. Blue skies and sun and not a hint of rainy weather in Goodlettsville

So…will the next game be played tonight or pushed to tomorrow. It was scheduled for an 8pm start.
I suppose it may depend on how this game ends.
