Lipscomb @ Sounds Stadium

Post by vu2003rpl »

Couple questions…
Can you buy tickets at the gate?
Any idea if concession stands will be open?

I’d like to take the kids but I’m wondering if we should eat food beforehand.

The concession stands in the main concourse are usually all open. Have never seen the outfield bar open for these games.

The Sounds use these 2 Vandy games as a warm up for the event staff before the Sounds season opener. Plenty of new staff being trained. With the weather being in the high 60's, hopefully there will be a good crowd.

Buy general admission tickets. Early in the game they usually check in the reserved seat area, but no problem later on moving down. There are 2 ticket booths. The main one is on Joe Gilliam Way on the north side of the stadium. The smaller booth is on 5th Ave N by the parking garage and outfield entrance. This booth seems to be hit or miss whether it is open or not.

There are 3 state parking lots along Harrison Street and 5th Ave N with free parking after 5:00pm. No idea about the garage parking for this game.

0-1: they get run on sac fly after double and a bunt to put him in scoring position. Good situational hitting by bisons.

4-1 with 2 hits some walks and 2 passed balls. We had bases loaded 1 out but can't get the big hits to break this wide open.

5-1 going to bottom of 4th. Still unable to get big hits. Had 1 out with runners at 2nd and 3rd - get 1 sac fly and that is it

Game was fun!! Family had a big time. Kids loved it. Sounds did a lot of fan interaction stuff. Stadium is really nice, great host for this type stuff.

But we didn’t hit (as usual). This weekend is gonna be brutal. Team has a lot of gelling to do. If you can’t wallop Lipscomb then your big dreams are in major trouble.

But hey - lots of days between now and Hoover. Hope we use it wisely. Our talent level is matched by few schools. We need to play as such.

Great game tonight! Does anyone have any extra tickets for Friday’s game against UT? I’m willing to negotiate but would prefer under $90 each, it’s just ridiculous on 3rd party sites and would prefer a good ole vandy fan to buy from. Thanks in advance. Text me at 615-670-3510
