I don't know- MFD has been right about a lot of things with this team and coaching staff. I'm going to use him as a lifeline for now. I need one.

I am completely baffled. Unless Stack told some of these kids that with the crew coming in, their playing time was going way down, I just can not understand giving up a Vanderbilt degree and SEC competition in your sport for a school/team like BGSU. Were the academics just too daunting?

Honestly, there is no difference in these athletes and everyone else in there generation. They want a job where they can work from home, start at $75 an hour, play with the cat and watch some tv during work hours. If someone pushes back, they quit and sit at home collecting their unemployment until...

Penn State is an excellent engineering school. I could see how it might appeal to him.

I know! We got to know these players and watch them develop over 4 years (or in the case of Josh, 10 years or so). I'm still in contact with Steve Tcheingang. It was nice to have Jordan Wright, and I thought we would have QMB for another year. Vanderbilt basketball got in my blood when I moved here ...

I also think he is making a mistake- unless there is some serious $$ involved. Stackhouse gets some attention because, well, he's Jerry Stackhouse. As a result, our team and our players get noticed- more so if we are winning, of course. Tyrin would have been a huge fish in this pond.

Here's my take. I'm as disappointed and confused as everyone else, but next fall there will be players on the floor and a coaching staff on the sidelines. I will be in my seats cheering on whoever plays for Vanderbilt and leads our team.

I don't blame Stack for this. It's a combination of the NIL money, individual circumstances and just the changing tide of college sports. I'm really disappointed and sad- especially about Tyrin.

MFD=Mathew Fisher Davis. I find his tweets interesting. I do as well. He knows his stuff and with maturity could have a role in the sport going forward. If that was a serious question, he played for Vandy 2014-18 and played in Mexico in 2020. Not sure where he is right now, but he's a big believer ...

I don't put it on Stack. I think it is a Vanderbilt issue- maybe just who we are. I also think basketball is very different from football in that it is easier to be showcased in your college game.

I feel like everyone is having to be an opportunist- players and coaches. It's so disappointing.

This is most likely about the money and ,yes, I would bet inappropriate contact as well. Whatever , I am sick of the whole mess and don't completely absolve the players. I cheer for the VU athletes because I believe, apparently somewhat incorrectly, that they are young people with their heads screw...

Tyrin got along with Stack. Stack was a mentor and father figure.

I almost wonder if some coach approached him....

You beat me to it. I don't get this at all. WHY???? He and Stack were so tight and next year's team would be Ty's! I am really sick about this.
