I know this is just the first practice game but it certainly seems to be a lineup built around speed.

I think there are few players that eligible. Maldonado should be in that bunch as well.

My guess is that Corbs wanted to save Murphy for tomorrow and Sunday, if necessary, as much as possible. I don't kknow if Murphy would have been used today if VU had not plated that second run.

Leiter reminded me of Sonny. Impressed with Schultz too.

I have only seen the last couple of innings but VU is swinging at a bunch of bad pitches.

VandyBoys are certainly making an impact in the majors this year.

i agree - not nearly as good as 2014.

actually, I think this is exactly why they play them. It ramps up the intensity for both teams going into the post season.

i think last night is what happens when a bad ball/strike umpire ruins a perfectly good baseball game.

It was bad for hitters on both teams but it made it hard to watch. Reminded me of the old days with Ken Couch behind the plate.

Either way I will take the win.

Talk on MLB channel last night suggested he would be either their #2 or #1 starter in the playoffs.

not a bad start - 2 Ks and a ground out.

I think Barnhart won the gold glove last year and he hits left handed. Those are two prized attributes for a catcher.

Was it a 7 inning game by rule or weather?

I think it will at least keep him in the race for another start.

I may come down to what the Sox think their prospects are for the year.
